2026 Road Update
The Town of Canosia has scheduled to add 2-3 inches of gravel to all of the Town gravel roads. There may be some disruptions in traffic flow but no road closures are anticipated. The roads will also be graded after the additional gravel is spread so please be careful if you see trucks hauling, men working, and graders working.
We have also identified four culverts, which are scheduled to be replaced this summer. This too may cause some disruptions, but no road closures.
These improvements and upgrades will be of great benefit to our residents and visitors. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated during the times this work is being done.

Town of Canosia Driveway Permits
If you are planning to build a driveway on a township road, you will need to download and submit this form: Driveway Permit Application. With the permit application, we will also need two checks: one $35 permit fee and one $250 deposit. Both should be made out to Canosia Township. The $35 covers the ordering of your new 911 road signage and administrative fees. The $250 check will be returned upon final approval from the township Road Foreman.
Once the permit application and checks have been submitted, construction can begin once the Road Foreman has visited the site and approved the design. Additional rules and instructions can be found on the permit application form.
Please call the Town Clerk 218-260-5600 to arrange a time to drop off the application; Please call the Road Foreman 218-390-3265 with any technical questions or if the finished driveway is ready for approval.
